A Note:

Many of you may have noticed that in the professional tournaments they no longer take the 90 second break after the first game in a set. This is now a USTA rule. You change ends, but there is no break.

Quick Tip

If you win the toss at the beginning of your tennis match, you actually have one of four choices.
1. You may choose to serve.
2. You may choose to receive.
3. You may choose the end to begin play.
4. You may ask your opponent(s) to make the choice.
Again, you only get one choice. You can't say, "I'll serve from this end." That's two choices.
Even if you lose the toss, you still have a choice. For example, if your opponent wins the toss and chooses to serve, you may choose the end to start play.
