The GCTA Supports Tennis
Robert H. "Rube" Rubery, age 74, of Columbus, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at his home. Survived by a wonderful wife, Kay; children, Robert Jr. of Vancouver, WA, Steve Rubery of Mission Viejo, CA and Patricia (Philip) Rodgers of Galloway, OH; grandchildren, Christine, Erin and Michael Rubery and Jamie Witt; great-grandson, Ashton Rubery; brother, Paul (Nancy) Rubery of Canandaigua, NY; brother-in-law, George (Marcia) Bloom; a niece and numerous nephews. Preceded in death by granddaughter Amanda Witt and parents Paul and Ruth Rubery. Mr. Rubery was born in Phelps, NY in 1931. He received his BS from Notre Dame in 1952 and his masters degree from Rutger University in 1960. He retired from Xerox Corporation after 30 years of service. Life long tennis enthusiast he was a member and night manager at Wickertree Tennis Club with a keen interest in the development of young tennis players. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at St. Peters Catholic Church, 6899 Smokey Row Road. Fr. John Johnson, Celebrant. The family will receive friends one (1) hour prior to Mass time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution to the charity of donor's choice.
