Babe Zaharias Tennis Tournament

Please join us on Monday August 9, as the Babe Tennis Classic returns for the fifth year to the beautiful tennis facility of New Albany Country Club.  We will have the luxury of playing on three different surfaces (12 HarTru, 2 hard and 2 grass courts) at one of the Midwest’s premier tennis clubs.

Our “Babe Day” this year begins with a morning round-robin by level and a box lunch courtside at Marty Riessen Stadium Court as you watch an exhibition match.  The match features local tennis teaching professionals Kristin Reed, Kelly Story, Michelle Parrish and their teammate Dori Easdale - members of Columbus area 5.0 team who advanced to USTA National Championships in 2005. After the round robin, you may stay and while the afternoon away at NACC’s adult pool (72 lounge chairs, mahjongg, euchre, Bunco, frozen margaritas anyone?) or reserve courts for leisure play.  To close the day, all the “babes” (golf and tennis participants) will reunite under the big tent to shop the silent auction and enjoy the Babe’s Benefit Dinner featuring local comedic performer, Pat Wynn Brown.

The ticket for this year’s event is $125 per person but includes the entire day’s activities as well as a small donation to American Cancer Society but… there is an early bird discount of $10 for the Tennis Classic if you register before July 1.  It’s the perfect day to share with your tennis team, an out-of-town guest, or even a corporate contact.  All levels of play are welcome.
