Awards Nominations

Each year, awards are given by the GCTA and OVTA.
If you would like to nominate someone for an award, send the following information to the GCTA.

1. Your name
2. Your address
3. Your phone number
4. The award(s) you are nominating the person(s) for
5. The name(s) of the person(s) you are nominating
6. The address(es) of the person(s)
7. The phone number(s) of the person(s)
8. A short explanation as to why you are nominating the person(s)
This information should be e-mailed to the
GCTA
for consideration.

What follows is a description of the present awards.
There are two areas of awards: GCTA Awards and OVTA Awards.

GCTA Awards

Outstanding Newsperson:
Awarded to the local media person(s) who has(have) covered tennis best.

Outstanding Promotion of Tennis:
Awarded to the local person(s) who has(have) contributed significantly to tennis promotion.

GCTA Special Recognition:
Award to the local person(s) worthy of recognition in the area of tennis.

OVTA Awards
The GCTA, through our area representative, Janet Craycraft, can nominate local tennis enthusiasts for a number of Ohio Valley Tennis Association Awards. Recipients must be USTA members. These nominations must be submitted to the OVTA Awards Chairman by September 1st of each year.

Howard Dredge Award
Outstanding Contribution to Junior Tennis
Carl Meyer Award
Outstanding Players
Lee Gillespie Award
Non-Tournament Player Who Has Done the Most for Tennis
Kay Schubert Award
Award is presented to a Parks and Recreation department with outstanding promotion of tennis.
