The GCTA Supports Tennis
SCOTT Alice Crenshaw Scott, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 26, 2006, at the age of 78, at Riverside Methodist, while in the company of her husband, David. Alice was born on February 8, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA. Her death was preceded by her three sisters Cynthia, Nancy and her twin sister Phyllis. She was educated at Germantown Friends School and Rutgers University. In 1954 she married David Scott. In 1967 she and her family moved to the Worthington, OH area. In the past she judged properties for Knights Inns. For 20 years she was a nationally accredited tennis umpire serving for junior, college and professional tournaments. At the time of her passing she was the President of the Northview Buckeye Garden Club, a Master Landscape Design Consultant, the Treasurer of the Ohio Council of the Nationally Accredited Landscape Design Critics, and member of the Horticulture sub-commission of the Columbus Parks. She volunteered at the Inniswood Metro Gardens since 1983. She volunteered at the perennial gardens of Park of Roses with Northview Buckeye G.C, and she also maintained the entrance gardens at the Brookside sub-division, where she lived. Alice is survived by her husband, David; and her sons, Jerry and Alan. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated, and private services have been held. Memorial services in her memory are planned at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions in her memory be sent to The Inniswood Garden Society, 940 South Hempstead Rd, Westerville OH, 43081, 614-895-6216.
The GCTA honored Alice in 2000 with the Umpire Award.
