The GCTA Supports Tennis

Jr. Davis Cup

Steve Ryuse was the 2001 Captain of the Jr. Davis Cup team. This team was made up of some of the best junior tennis players in the central Ohio area. These young men compete against similar teams from other areas. The Central Ohio team finished first three years ago and second two years back. The tournament was rained out after the first few rounds last year.

Columbus vs Dayton: 5-0
Columbus vs Huntington: 2-1

Jr. Wightman Cup

Michelle Jarrett led the Jr. Wightman Cup team this year. Like the Jr. Davis Cup team, this team has some of the best young tennis players in our area. These young women compete against the same areas as the Jr. Davis Cup team. They, also, have enjoyed great success: first three years ago and second  two years back. The tournament was canceled after the first few rounds last year due to weather,
